Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and the publisher of Train Radar (see the Impressum for legal details, "we"). By using the Train Radar app or this website you accept them. If you obtained the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the licence of the software itself; where these terms conflict with mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, that law prevails.
1. What Train Radar is — and is not
Train Radar visualises live railway data published by railway operators and infrastructure managers. It is an informational companion, not an official journey planner and not a safety system.
Train positions, times, platforms, delay and cancellation information can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Positions are partly estimated between measurement points. Never rely on Train Radar as your sole source when deciding whether to travel, which train to board, or when to be at the platform — always check the operator's official information and station announcements. We accept no responsibility for missed connections, travel decisions or any other consequence of relying on data shown in the app.
2. Subscriptions
- Some features are unlocked by an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) purchased through your Apple ID. Prices are shown in the app before purchase in your local currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Where a free trial is offered, the trial converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policy; we cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Safety-relevant information — cancellations and platform changes — is never behind the paywall.
3. Acceptable use
You may use Train Radar for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:
- scrape, harvest or bulk-download data from our API, or access it with anything other than the official app;
- resell, republish or redistribute data obtained through the app (the underlying railway data is available from its original sources under their own licences — see Data Sources);
- interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
- reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it;
- use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
We may suspend access that breaches these rules or that threatens the integrity of the service.
4. Intellectual property
The app, this website, the Train Radar name, design, and software are our property or licensed to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. Railway data remains the property of its respective publishers and is used under the licences listed on the Data Sources page. The rail map is built from OpenStreetMap data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL.
5. Availability and changes
We aim for continuous operation but do not guarantee availability. Upstream railway feeds can fail or be withdrawn, and coverage per country can change. We may modify, add or remove features, and may discontinue the service; if a discontinuation affects a paid period, Apple's refund mechanisms apply.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and — for slight negligence — to breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Nothing in these terms limits liability for injury to life, body or health, or any liability that cannot be limited by law. Statutory consumer rights in your country of residence remain unaffected.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, you additionally enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in your home courts.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the current version is always at trainradar.co/terms with its effective date. Material changes will be announced in the app.
